Helsingborg Central Station is a high-traffic railway hub, which made it necessary to construct a new platform for passenger trains. The purpose of the expansion at Helsingborg C Upper was to increase capacity, manage future traffic growth, and accommodate the rising number of passengers.
This measure was crucial for ensuring smooth traffic flow and improving the station’s functionality.

Project Summary
The project involved:
- Demolition of the existing platform and track
- Construction of a new train platform with a platform roof
- Installation of a cast-in-place staircase connecting the platform to Tingsrättsbron
- Installation of two cast-in-place buffer stops
- Sleeper replacements on tracks 5–8
The contract included M-BEST works as well as civil and structural works involving concrete, steel, and wood.
The railway works comprised:
- Removal of track switches
- Construction of track spans
- Replacement of sleepers
- Installation of a new signaling system
- Reconstruction and new construction of overhead lines
- Implementation of remote control systems
- Low-voltage work, including new lighting and an integrated fire alarm system
