Västra Götaland is a growing region, and Västtrafik aims to double the number of daily train journeys to 130,000 by 2035. To accommodate this growth and ensure sufficient capacity for increasing train traffic, a new train depot was required at Sävenäs.

Design and Construction
The project involved the design and construction of a new railway facility within the client’s expanded site, both inside and outside the newly built depot.
This included:
- Expanding the existing train depot for Jernhusen
- Developing new railway infrastructure
- Upgrading existing tracks
As part of this contract, we were responsible for all BEST works, ensuring the seamless integration of the new and existing railway infrastructure.
We installed a total of 800 meters of new track, and eight track switches were strategically placed in newly designated locations to optimize functionality and efficiency.
