Sävenäs – Relocation of track 51
Sävenäs rail yard in Gothenburg is one of Sweden’s most important hubs for freight traffic and train shunting. To enable the expansion of Jernhusen AB’s depot capacity, a temporary relocation of track 51 and the service roadpassing through the depot area is required.
This measure is essential to maintain the rail yard’s functionality during the expansion phase. The temporary relocation will remain in place until 2025, when the final reconstruction of the yard is carried out, and track 51 is permanently relocated north of the depot building.
