Our History

2025

Aarsleff Rail in Norway

Aarsleff Rail entered the Norwegian market in 2017 and in 2022 the Norwegian company Trym Anlegg AS became part of the Aarsleff Rail Group, and was officially renamed Aarsleff Rail AS in 2025.

2014

Aarsleff Rail enters the Swedish market

Strategic acquisitions of companies with specialized competencies have strengthened our ability to deliver high-quality solutions and expert project management. In 2014, we acquired all shares in the Swedish company Anker AB, which was renamed Aarsleff Rail AB in 2022.

2012

A good start

Aarsleff Rail quickly secured contracts for track and signaling projects, bridge repairs, and multiple service agreements. The extensive experience gained through Banekonsortiet, combined with our long-standing history in railway projects, fostered confidence among employees, partners, and clients alike.

2009

Banekonsortiet becomes Aarsleff Rail A/S

With fundamental changes in the Danish railway industry and numerous large-scale projects on the horizon, the need for a single, dedicated organization became apparent. To ensure a stable foundation of expertise, invest in specialized machinery, and build long-term client relationships, Banekonsortiet was restructured into Aarsleff Rail A/S in 2009. Today, the company is owned by Per Aarsleff Holding A/S.

1947

The pioneer Per Aarsleff

On January 4, 1947, the 29-year-old civil engineer Per Aarsleff left a secure position with the Danish state. He borrowed 10,000 danish kroner from his father’s life insurance, bought himself an excavator, rented two more and opened his own brown coal mine at Fasterholt in Midtjylland. The business adventure had begun.

1911

Our history begins

At Aarsleff Rail, we can trace our history back to 1911, when Petri & Haugsted A/S began its first railway project. Petri & Haugsted, which continues to hold strong railway expertise, became part of the Aarsleff Group in the 1990s. From then on, railway projects within the Aarsleff Group were managed by Banekonsortiet as a collaboration between Per Aarsleff A/S, Petri & Haugsted A/S, and Wicotec Kirkebjerg A/S.

Whistleblower Policy

The Aarsleff Group has an open corporate culture.
