Meet Ihne

Apprentice

Ihne Marie Johnsen

Ihne Marie Johnsen is an adult apprentice in construction pipefitting at Aarsleff Rail. At 23 years old, she wanted a job that would challenge her, allow her to learn something new every day, and keep her working outdoors in the fresh air. From her very first interview, she had a great impression of the company, which made the decision to join an easy one.

Since starting at Aarsleff Rail, Ihne has been part of several exciting projects, including Ocean Space Center, Gryta, Innherredsveien, Grong Station, Industrivegen Heimdal, and Langstein Infiltration Plant. But for her, it’s not just about the projects—it’s about the people. She describes the work environment as exceptional, where everyone is encouraged to be themselves. “Even though there are so many different personalities, everyone is kind and supportive,” she says.

Looking back on her time at the company so far, Ihne finds it impossible to pick just one standout moment. “I’ve had so many great experiences since I started. I’ve shared incredible times with amazing people,” she reflects. The strong sense of community at Aarsleff Rail is something she deeply appreciates. She believes the company does a great job of making everyone feel included by taking employees’ needs and feelings seriously and arranging events where everyone can take part.

She also highlights the positive collaboration between management and employees, emphasizing that leadership listens and genuinely works toward creating a good working relationship. “They make an effort to take everyone seriously, and it really shows,” she says.

For Ihne, the best part of working at Aarsleff Rail is the strong team spirit, the supportive work environment, and the opportunity for both personal and professional growth. “And of course, the salary isn’t bad either,” she adds with a smile.
