Meet Marie

Site Manager

Marie Dalgård Nielsen

Marie Dalgård Nielsen has been part of the Aarsleff Group since 2020, beginning as an intern at Per Aarsleff A/S. Since then, she has transitioned from working with VDC to infrastructure and railway projects and now serves as a site manager at Aarsleff Rail.

While studying architectural technology and construction management, Marie worked as a student assistant at Aarsleff Rail. After completing her degree in January 2024, she stepped into the role of project manager. Her first assignment was the Copenhagen South project, where she primarily handled administrative tasks but also developed a strong interest in gaining hands-on experience on-site.

That opportunity came with the Saxogade Connection project in Aalborg, which involved constructing a tunnel under the railway. The project required her to relocate across the country for work. It was carried out through a partnering agreement, where the client, consultants, and contractors worked closely together to optimize solutions and costs. As project manager for the concrete works, Marie played an active role in these optimizations while gaining valuable on-site experience.

The Saxogade project was completed at the turn of the year, marking an exciting and educational experience for Marie. She enjoys being physically present on-site, staying close to the construction process, and working directly with the concrete teams. She has gained significant insight from their craftsmanship and expertise. Additionally, the project benefited from strong collaboration at all levels—both within the project team and across the Rail organization—creating a positive work environment and ensuring a successful project execution.

Marie has now moved on to the New Railway over West Funen project, where she is responsible for two of the ten bridges being built in a joint venture between Aarsleff Rail and Per Aarsleff. Another stop on her journey across the country.
