Tamping Operator
Staffan Eklund
Staffan is 44 years old, lives with his wife and their two sons. He works as a tamping operator and train driver/supervisor and has been a part of Aarsleff Rail since 2019.
His journey with the company began when Aarsleff Rail acquired the tamping machine he was working on. Since then, he has been involved in numerous track adjustment projects, primarily in Denmark, where he has contributed to the development and improvement of railway infrastructure.
Collaboration within the company functions very well, and the working hours provide a good balance between job and free time—something that many within the team appreciate.
As he is employed in Sweden but works under Danish management, he has a unique setup that comes with both advantages and certain challenges. This creates a dynamic work environment where he benefits from the best of both systems and has the opportunity to grow in an international setting.
What he values most about his job is the freedom and responsibility that comes with it. He works independently and has great trust from his employer. Without him and his colleagues, three tamping machines would be at a standstill!
