Electification Programme
Electrifying Banedanmark’s railway network contributes to the development of a modern railway system with more affordable and reliable train services. Electrification helps create a dependable and attractive railway that benefits passengers, operators, and the environment.
Aarsleff Rail is part of this effort through the EPAS consortium, established by Per Aarsleff Holding A/S, Siemens AG, and Siemens A/S. Work began in 2015, with the first completed section delivered in 2017. Since then, several sections have been finished, and we are currently working on two more.

Efficient Installation Work
Aarsleff Rail’s primary responsibility is the installation of foundations, masts, and catenary wires. We also build foundations for transformer stations, install transformers, and connect them to the national grid supplying power to the catenary system.
To improve safety and efficiency, we use advanced methods: vacuum excavators for test excavation, road/rail piling rigs for foundation installation, and purpose-built catenary vehicles for bracket and wire installation. Combined with skilled technicians, streamlined logistics, and a high level of digitization, we have accelerated the installation of modern catenary systems.
