New Station in Favrholm

In Favrholm, South of Hillerød, Aarsleff Rail has constructed a new station serving both the local railway ‘Lokalbanen’ and the suburban ‘S-banen’ line. The new Favrholm Station improves transport options for travellers in northern Zealand and also supports access to the new regional hospital being built nearby. The station opened on December 10, 2023.

Aarsleff Rail delivered the project for two separate clients, applying a wide range of in-house competencies. Both railway lines remained in operation during most of the construction period, with only short sections carried out during planned track closures.

Many Competencies in Use

New station construction is a well-established discipline for Aarsleff Rail—we have previously delivered similar projects in Vinge and Jerne. For Favrholm Station, we applied a broad skillset including track works, catenary, earth and drainage, concrete structures, railway installations, interlocking systems, and railway safety. We placed special emphasis on building strong collaboration with the two clients, accommodating their differing organisational needs and priorities.
