Preparatory work at Narvik Station

The project involved the track reconstruction of the Ofot Line at Narvik Station, located at Narvik Port. The work included the replacement of track materials, demolition of existing tracks, mass replacement, water and sanitation works, and the construction of new tracks with new sleepers and rails, including tamping.

Several areas required blasting and sheet piling due to unstable ground conditions. The project was subject to strict safety requirements due to its proximity to the city center. All work was carried out under overhead lines (KL) with frequent ore traffic on adjacent tracks and was executed in phases with planned changes and breaks.
